1) Introduction and Directions of the Discipline
This field involves the basic theories, engineering technologies and research methods of the design, manufacturing operation, control and experimental research of power engineering and thermal equipment. The research fields covered include: power machinery and engineering, thermal energy engineering, refrigeration and cryogenic engineering, chemical process machinery, etc.
The research directions are as follows: 1. Combustion and emission control of internal combustion engines; 2. Efficient use and development of energy; 3. Energy-saving technologies and equipment; 4. Optimal design and analysis of power systems.
2) Academic structure, Study Period and Learning Mode
The academic structure for the master's degree students of this discipline is 3 years, and the study period is 2-5 years (including suspension of study and retention of student status).
Master's degree students should complete their studies within the prescribed study period. The time for research on the dissertation topic and writing the dissertation for the degree (graduation) should not be less than 1 year.
For a small number of master's degree students with exceptionally outstanding academic performance, after comprehensive assessment by the college and approval of the application, they can apply for a degree (graduation) in advance, but the study time cannot be less than 2 years.
