1) Introduction and Directions of the Discipline
This field involves basic theories, techniques and methods of mechanical design, manufacturing, testing, usage, maintenance, etc. It is closely related to engineering fields and mechanics disciplines such as materials engineering, power engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and information engineering, control engineering, computer technology, industrial design engineering.
The research directions are as follows: 1. Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation; 2. Mechanical and electronic Engineering; 3. Mechanical Design and Theory; 4. Vehicle Engineering.
2) Academic structure, Study Period and Learning Mode
The academic structure for doctoral students is 4 years, and the study period is 3-6 years (including suspension of study and retention of student status).
Doctoral students should complete their studies within the prescribed study period, among which the time for research on the dissertation topic and writing the dissertation should not be less than 2 years.
For a small number of doctoral students with exceptionally outstanding academic performance, after comprehensive assessment by the college and approval of the application, they can apply for a degree (graduation) in advance, but the study time cannot be less than 3 years.
The study and work time for doctoral students is 40 hours per week, and the required attendance rate is not less than 80%. Each tutor (group), research team, institute or research center can formulate their own attendance regulations, but they cannot be less strict than the above conditions.
